March is an exciting yet hectic month for students as they gear up for midterms and Spring Break. Spring Break at the University of Arkansas is March 18 – 22, 2019. During this time, students begin to realize that the end of the academic year is near. They also begin thinking about the upcoming year: what classes they want to take, where they want to live in the fall, and what they will do this summer. We encourage you to talk with your student as they begin making these decisions. Even if they do not need help, your support can be essential in their success.
Spring Break Plans and Expectations
As Spring Break approaches, students will likely celebrate their week off of school with a relaxing vacation, making extra money, or catching up with friends and family. Whatever your student decides, consider talking with them about the plans and decisions that they make during their time off. Things to consider and discuss include alcohol use, burn out and stress, safety while traveling, upcoming assignments right after the break, and finances. Keeping open lines of communication with your student and setting clear expectations will help your student to succeed inside and outside of the classroom.
